The phrase “smoke and mirrors” is used to describe the notion that things are not as they are perceived be. It is intended to make you believe something that isn’t really true. Earlier this month I went to see Spider-Man: Far From Home, and those of you who have seen the movie will know exactly what I’m talking about when I say smoke and mirrors… ***SPOILER ALERT*** (kinda!) What you’ll find in the movie is that it’s all an illusion. I won’t elaborate on that. That’s all you need to know. This isn’t the first superhero movie that has made…

Last week I celebrated my birthday on the beautiful island of Kos, Greece. Not just any birthday, it was my 25th birthday. That’s a quarter of century (makes me sound old)! I certainly look my age but sometimes I feel a lot younger on the inside. I can remember by thoughts as a teenager; what I thought my life should look like at 25. I’ve been listening to him for years now and his messages always hit home. I…

“An acorn, hard as a rock when it fell, would be swallowed up by the ground, cracked open, in what may seem like a violent act of destruction. But that be growth, too. The acorn must come completely undone in order for new life to emerge.” I’m watching Underground on Netflix at the moment and this quote from Harriet Tubman’s monologue, played by the gifted Aisha Hinds, gave me all the feels. Without pain there is no change. Something has to give. But even in that which looks like it will destroy you, you have to make the decision to allow…
